Leading in the GenAI era: Muma College of Business launches two new AI in business graduate programs

TAMPA — Starting this fall, two new University of South Florida business graduate programs will prepare managers and early-career business professionals to lead and govern in the generative AI era.

The two new AI in Business degree programs — specializing in digital transformation and enterprise integration — are in response to the evolution of AI, as it shifts from traditional AI to generative AI and to agentic AI.

The suite of master’s degree programs is one of the first applied GenAI-native programs in the country, according to Munir Mandviwalla, director of USF’s School of Information Systems and a Muma Distinguished Research Fellow at the Muma College of Business.

“These two new programs were designed from the ground up and position USF to lead in business education and research in the generative AI era,” he said.

The suite of programs and its newly designed courses offer students two paths into a career in AI business leadership — the MS in Artificial Intelligence in Business and Digital Transformation for managers and the MS in Artificial Intelligence in Business and Enterprise Integration for early-career professionals.

Recent job market reports show companies are looking for experienced professionals to lead, govern, and scale GenAI initiatives. Industry workforce trends reveal:

  • Workers with AI skills command a 56% wage premium, up from 25% the previous year, according to PwC’s 2025 Global AI Jobs Barometer report.
  • And 86% of employers expect AI to transform their business by 2030, says the World Economic Forum’s 2025 Future of Jobs Report.

The MS in AI in Business and Digital Transformation is a 100% online program geared toward working professionals and managers who want to lead and manage AI-enabled digital transformation in companies. Students will learn generative AI strategy and business value, agentic AI and process redesign, AI risk and governance, and how to lead organizational change.

The program prepares students for career paths that include working as a digital transformation lead and AI program manager.

The MS in AI in Business and Enterprise Integration is an in-person program for recent graduates and early-career professionals. Students will learn to deploy and integrate AI, GenAI, and agentic AI systems at an enterprise scale, with governance and security.

The program prepares graduates for roles that build and utilize AI systems and design AI for enterprise systems, such as a GenAI analyst or an AI agent architect.

Notably, AI and information processing technologies will create roughly 11 million new jobs globally by 2030, according to the World Economic Forum’s 2025 Future of Jobs Report.
