Kforce Big Data Days
In collaboration with Hillsborough County Public Schools and with the support of our local industry partners, Big Data Day introduces high school seniors to professional opportunities in Business Analytics and Information Systems. Beginning in 2017, the event was named "Kforce Big Data day" in recognition of support from Kforce, one of the leading staffing companies in the world.
The first event was held on December 1, 2016. Students attending AP Computer Science, Technology Support, Web Development and the Academy of Information Technology classes in Bloomingdale, Plant, Alonso, Durant, Newsome, Sickles, Spoto, Middleton, Hillsborough high schools attended. This event was supported by: JP Morgan Chase, Florida High Tech Corridor, Sykes Enterprises. The next Big Data Day will be held on November 6, 2024.
Annual Best AP Computer Science Teacher award
To encourage computer science education in area high schools, beginning in 2018, the BAIS program has also instituted an annual "Best AP Computer Science Teacher" award. Nominations for the award are invited from area high school students and the award winner is selected by a committee of Muma College of Business faculty in partnership with the Tampa Bay STEM network among the nominations received. The award winner will be recognized at the annual Big Data Day.
