School of Aging Studies
Welcome to the School of Aging Studies in the College of Behavioral and Community
Sciences at the University of South Florida. Established in 1967 as the Department
of Gerontology, the School is one of the nation's oldest and largest academic programs
dedicated to the study of aging.
Our faculty are engaged in extensive research activities concentrated in these areas: Caregiving and Behavioral Interventions, Palliative Care, Chronic Pain, and Dementia, Policy and Long-Term Services and Supports, and Social Relationships, Cognition, and Health.
We offer flexible degree programs designed for both full-time and part-time students.
Most programs provide a wide range of elective options, allowing you to customize
your studies to match your interests and career goals.
At the undergraduate level, the School of Aging Studies offers courses of study leading to a minor in Aging Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration.
At the graduate level, we offer the Master of Arts in Gerontology and the Ph.D. in Aging Studies program.
We also offer a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology.
As Florida and the nation experience significant growth in their older adult populations,
