Academic & Advising
The School of Aging Studies primary mission is excellence in applied aging research
and education. Our undergraduate advisor, along with our outstanding faculty, wish
to provide you with information to successfully achieve your academic goals. We strongly
recommend that you meet at least once a semester with your advisor to discuss your
progress toward your degree, plan a schedule of courses, and explore graduate school
and career opportunities. If you need assistance during registration, please do not
hesitate to call our office.
Please phone (813) 974-9740 for more information if you are a current or prospective student.
For course equivalencies, please send the complete syllabi to Megan Anthony (firstname.lastname@example.org) for review. We can guarantee an initial review of syllabi though not subsequent reviews if an incomplete syllabi has been submitted. An original, complete syllabus with the following information (at a minimum) is needed for all courses seeking equivalency: a course prefix, number, and name, course description, student learning outcomes, textbooks, and academic qualifications of the instructor. A transcript that states the student completed the course, and passed (the grade needed depends on the program the student is applying for) is also needed.
We will be reviewing submitted course equivalencies at the end of each month, with responses returned at the beginning of the subsequent month.
For information on course equivalencies and lower-level course policies, visit USF's catalog.
Following the FAQ's you will find links to University websites that you will need throughout your academic career i.e. Registrar, Financial Aid, Schedule of Classes, Oasis, and myUSF.
