ABA Hosts Round Table Discussion with Community Partners

Following this year’s annual CABA Poster Expo, the ABA faculty including the director, program coordinator, and practicum faculty from both online and on-campus Masters programs hosted a Round Table Discussion with Community partners representing 10 agencies. Faculty provided an update to upcoming program changes, discussed challenges faced by community partners, and solicited feedback on how the program can be improved and further support community partners as they work diligently to provide a rigorous fieldwork experience to students.

Highlights from the meeting included an announcement of the use of a new textbook that might aide students’ application of behavior analytical principles in the classroom as well as at their practicum sites. Supervisors were enthusiastic about the opportunity to bridge the two experiences for students with the text.

"We are creating a new Supervision CEU course and announced our initiative to provide free CEU events throughout the year," said Dr. Catia Cividini-Motta, Associate Director of the ABA Program.  "We encouraged our community partners to seek Behavioral Health Centers of Excellence (BHCOE) accreditation. Finally, our community partners provided us with positive feedback on how well competent and professional our students have been."

One member stated, “You guys are creating great practitioners. USF students are always above the fray.”
