Development of instruments; survey research; evaluation capacity development


Connie Walker-Egea, PhD is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Child and Family Studies within the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences at USF. She has been working in multiple capacities in evaluation and research and has considerable experience with data collection using quantitative and qualitative methods, data analysis, and designing survey and research instruments. She also has experience as an independent evaluator consultant, including her work for the Kellogg Foundation, David C. Anchin Center at USF, and Universidad del Este, Puerto Rico. Her professional experience also includes teaching measurement courses at the undergraduate and the graduate levels at USF. Prior to joining USF, she worked for the Head Start and Early Head Start Program and in private and public hospitals as a dietitian. Among her research interests are the development of instruments, survey research, and evaluation capacity development.

She earned a doctorate in Measurement and Evaluation, a masters’ in Evaluation, Measurement and Research Design, a master’s in Family Ecology, and a bachelor’s in Nutrition and Dietetics. She is a Registered Dietitian and a Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist.
