Job Summary

The individual in this position is part of a research project investigating the use of Brain Network Activation pattern technology in older adults to detect the onset and progression of health conditions. The position utilizes FDA approved medical devices and research instruments to gather and analyze health data, manages databases, analyzes data, ensures quality control and compliance with regulatory operations.

Nature of Work

This position reports to the principal investigators of a research study investigating Brain Network Activation pattern technology applications in older adults to detect the onset and progression of health conditions. The position performs project activities such as developing materials to communicate the project to potential clients and their families, coordinating site visits and appropriate collection of data, ensuring quality control in the data, and compiling regulatory reports. Additionally, the position may be required to perform some general administrative duties such as drafting administrative forms and reports. This position requires specific computer expertise and software proficiency (i.e. SPSS, electronic health record systems).

Job Location

The job site for this position is in The Villages, an aged 55+ active lifestyle community with over 119,000 residents, in central Florida (roughly one hour from Tampa and 40 minutes from Ocala).

Examples of Duties

• Monitors compliance of study procedures with Federal, state and university regulations. Ensures that documents such as eligibility forms and informed consent are appropriately gathered and maintained, HIPAA regulations are followed, and that infection control, and safety procedures are implemented.

• Prepares and maintains regulatory and compliance documents such as IRB applications. Interprets rules and regulations pertaining clinical research to ensure compliance in research projects.

• Analyzes data from clinical trial and other medical screenings. Creates databases based client information or medical records, and analyzes data.

• Disseminates study information to potential participants and the general public.

• Drafts program reports for publication and/or public dissemination.

• Provides education to clients and clients' families regarding clinical protocols.

• Other administrative duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a public health, aging studies, medical sciences or areas directly related to the program responsibilities and one year of professional experience; or Master's degree in a similar area of specialization. Experience working on clinical trials and with older adult populations is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to self-directed candidates with strong writing and analytic (qualitative and/or quantitate) skill sets and to candidates with previous experience in data collection with aging populations and/or to candidates who have experience with data collection and analysis in health care. Experience with research related software (e.g. endnote, SPSS, ATLAS,ti, Nvivo). Students must also be able to provide their own transportation to and from The Villages worksite to perform research duties.

2. Job Title: Sr Social & Behav. Researcher, IMSE

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Sr. Social and Behavioral Researcher designs, conduct and interprets the results of social and behavioral research projects, collaborating with a principal investigator or research administrator. A Sr. Social and Behavioral Researcher is an expert in a specialized area who interprets project objectives, designs testing protocols, analyzes data using specialized statistical or analytical protocols, interprets data, integrates new findings into a field of study, and writes research reports. This position participates in the design and conduct of research in the fields of health care, public health, education, behavioral science, mental health, and/or social science. The position will participate in an interdisciplinary study examining the health care needs and experiences of older adults utilizing a comprehensive, technology-enhanced system of health care recently deployed in The Villages, Florida. Among other goals, this study will explore system effectiveness with particular focus on the impact technology-enhanced care has on the health and well-being of older adults. This position requires travel to USF Tampa campus and a valid driver's license. The candidate selected for this position will be expected to work on site at The Villages (a retirement community, home to 100,000 older adults about one hour north of the Tampa campus). This position requires travel to USF Tampa campus and a valid drives license. No additional compensation will be provided for travel to the Villages or USF Tampa campus.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Master's degree in a field directly related to the research (i.e. public health, aging, psychology, health policy and management, etc.) and one year of research experience; or a doctorate in one of the same fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with aging populations and/or experience in health/healthcare research; experience with SPSS, Nvivo, Atlas Ti, Qualitrics and/or other data analysis software; excellent written and oral communication skills; experience with mixed-methods research. POSITION SUMMARY

The USF College of Engineering Tampa campus cordially invites candidates with a Doctoral degree in engineering, computer science, data sciences or a related area with research focus in technology in health care to apply for this Post- Doctoral Research Scholar position. This is a full-time position that may be renewed annually depending on satisfactory performance and funding availability up to a maximum of three years. The selected candidate will work with CREATE-Health leadership to write and publish manuscripts, prepare and submit proposals related to the group's current and planned research agenda, and provide support in terms of the daily activities associated with existing research. The candidate is also encouraged to develop his/her own research agenda.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in engineering, computer science, data sciences or a related area with research focus in technology in health care. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with research expertise or experience in one or more of the following will be reviewed favorably: Healthcare systems, electronic health records, health information technology, qualitative and quantitative data modeling and analysis, data analytics, statistical and mathematical modeling, programming, sensing and sensory networks, internet of things, ambient intelligence.
