One USF Reaches Another Consolidation Milestone

Dear USF Community,

On 1 July 2020, the University of South Florida officially began operating as One USF, a single, consolidated university with three campuses. This week, USF reached another important milestone in the consolidation process with the completion of a site visit by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

To comply with COVID-19 safety protocols, the two-day site visit was completely virtual. It included interviews by members of the SACSCOC Substantive Change Committee with students, faculty and administrators on all three campuses. During the interviews, those representing USF were asked to elaborate upon our compliance as One USF with SACSCOC’s Principles of Accreditation.

With the completion of this exhaustive review, we look forward to expediting the final steps of the multi-year process. We expect a determination from the SACSCOC Board of Trustees later this year.

This week’s site review took a tremendous amount of work, attention to detail and preparation. I’m deeply grateful to Provost Wilcox and his team, and members of my leadership team, for continuing to lead this effort. We also appreciate the contributions of our Board of Trustees, faculty, students and staff.

We can feel a great sense of pride in the work we are doing together to raise the visibility of USF’s considerable and growing strengths as a world-class research university. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our future as One USF!

Sincerely,

President Currall
