Biography:
Shirley Boyd is chiefly responsible for the financial oversight and management, human resources, and the day-to-day business operations for the Patel College of Global Sustainability. She has been a USF Bull for approximately 21 years, working closely with leadership, faculty, and staff on the Tampa campus with budgeting, financial reporting, accounting, purchasing, annual performance evaluations, tenure promotion applications, and human resources. She is a Muma College of Business alumna with a CRA-USF/Advanced designation and is a recipient of a USF Outstanding Staff award. Prior to joining USF, Shirley brought 15 years of experience providing administrative support and financial management at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, N.Y., where she is also an alumna, and Bank Street College of Education in New York City, where she served as the grants accountant, working closely with the controller, vice president of finance, department heads, and Deloitte & Touche Accounting Firm.

Biography:
Emily has called Tampa, Florida home for 24 years. Graduating from the University of South Florida (USF) with a degree in History with a minor in International Studies, Emily’s affinity for her alma mater and her desire to support academia led her to pursue a Master's in Adult Education with a focus on College Student Affairs. For the past twelve years, Emily worked for USF Health in the Colleges of Medicine and Nursing in various roles, ranging from admissions to academic advising for graduate students. She is committed to sharing her wealth of knowledge about the University and empowering students in their academic pursuits. Emily looks forward to supporting PCGS, the students, and overall mission of developing a sustainable future for our global community.

Dayne Guy

Biography:
Hailing from the breathtaking coast of Punta Gorda, Belize, Dayne's journey to our college was driven by the desire to unite two of his passions: technology and sustainability. Dayne, currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in computer science at USF, is a self-proclaimed tech guru who spends most of his time programming and exploring the latest technological advancements. When not programming, Dayne's life is enriched by his deep love for music -- writing, producing, and fully immersing himself in the art of sound. Before joining USF, Dayne dedicated his time to working with the Turneffe Atoll Sustainability Association, using his expertise to promote the conservation of marine ecosystems through the association's groundbreaking initiatives in Belize. Now, he brings that same dedication to our college to spread the message of global sustainability.

Leah Johnsey

Biography:
With several years of administrative experience in higher education, Leah is responsible for administrative support for Dean Parayil and the Patel College of Global Sustainability.
After graduating from Tennessee Technological University (TTU) with a degree in Business Management, Leah began her career in administrative support at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Department of Surgery, where she worked as the Administrative Assistant to multiple surgeons. She then became the Surgical Residency Program Coordinator at USC before moving on to become the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Pensacola State College.
New to both Tampa and USF, Leah looks forward to interacting with students and sustainability partners to promote the PCGS mission and ideas for a more sustainable future.

Katie Murray

Biography:
A 2017 Patel College of Global Sustainability alumna, Katie is responsible for developing and coordinating a wide variety of campaigns, programs, and activities designed to promote and publicize the College. Katie brings 10 years of nonprofit education, marketing, and communications experience to this role, having worked at the Florida Aquarium, Sarasota Bay Explorers, ZooTampa at Lowry Park, and Philippe Cousteau Jr's nonprofit, EarthEcho International. Given her experience in the nonprofit sector, she also runs a creative agency that provides design and photography services to nonprofits and small businesses. Katie is an alumna of the University of Vermont, having graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science in 2013. When not hard at work, she can be found underwater (diving), on a nature photography walk with her husband and daughter, and performing in or viewing theatre productions. Katie looks forward to engaging with the community and spreading the word about the incredible work our Patel College students and faculty do every day for a more sustainable future.

Randall Pape

Biography:
With nearly two decades of involvement at USF, Randall's journey at USF began as a graduate student and graduate student President. Returning to USF during the inception of the global sustainability program, he assumed the role of its inaugural administrator, spearheading the academic program development, subsequent growth and transformation for over 13 years. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of Academic Services for the Patel College of Global Sustainability (PCGS), he is dedicated to supporting students throughout their academic journey, actively engaging in conferences, and forging local and international partnerships. As a representative of PCGS within USF, he collaborates with many influential units - shaping graduate student policies and implementing them with precision. Thriving in interdisciplinary programs enriched by a diverse student population, his military and professional background has instilled a resolute commitment to empowering others. Through his leadership and active participation, he has been instrumental in numerous initiatives that have fueled the growth and triumph of our esteemed college.

Sophia Pellegrino

Biography:
Sophia gained an interest in ocean cleanup while growing up on Long Island, New York. She developed a passion for assisting others while participating actively in her school's Thirst Project Club throughout her time in high school. To advance her skill set, she decided to major in psychology at the University of South Florida. Before joining the PCGS team, Sophia worked in a variety of positions where she assisted adult staff, students, and children, allowing her to hone her behaviorism skills. Her hobbies include writing, painting, and photography.

Melany Sanchez

Biography: I was born in Colombia, and raised in Tampa. I am currently pursuing a major in
Accounting with a minor in finance. I am passionate in numbers and financial literacy.
After graduation, I intend to earn a CPA certification and go from there. Some of
my hobbies include cooking, reading, and trying to raise plants. Growing up in and
visiting Colombia, I have seen poverty first-hand. I understand how crucial it is
for some to use all their resources and even wasted material can be useful to support
their everyday.

Evaristo Soto

Biography:
A lifelong Floridian majoring in mechanical engineering, Evaristo mastered the use of Adobe Premiere Pro video editing software more than four years ago, while still in high school, and specializes in quickly producing quality videos. Driven by a passion for all aspects of life and adventure, he has multiple interests, including technology, woodworking, music, hiking, gardening, photography, botany, and art history.

Maria Vargas

Biography:
Maria del Mar Vargas was born in Florida but spent her formative years moving between Colombia, Jordan, and the U.S. She is currently a health science major with the goal of eventually obtaining a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and owning her own practice. Maria enjoys spending her free time traveling, reading, and making pottery. She strives to combine her passion for art and helping others through her work assisting faculty members in their professional endeavors. While living in Colombia, she acquired a strong interest in holistic and sustainable living, which influenced her journey to our college.
