USF places second in the state’s 2021 performance-based funding standings, leads all universities in several key metrics
The University of South Florida is once again among the leaders in the State University System’s performance-based funding scores for 2021, according to data released today during a meeting of the Florida Board of Governors (BOG).
USF College of Public Health (COPH) doctoral student and research assistant Dr. Marlene Joannie Bewa has earned the Faculty for the Future Fellowship.
University of South Florida associate professor Marie Byrd has won a USF Women in Leadership and Philanthropy Award for her research involving the social and emotional learning of Black girls. Byrd, the interim Sarasota-Manatee campus director for the College of Education, has focused her scholarship on the intersection of race and gender for school-aged Black girls and the resulting complexity of their social, emotional and academic development.
Professor Norma Alcantar of the University of South Florida is one of seven recent inductees to the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame, where she engineered an ancient method of washing water with cactus mucilage to build modern technologies. The Florida Inventors Hall of Fame selection committee praised Alcantar's groundbreaking work in designing natural materials to develop safe and non-toxic solutions for a variety of uses.
Today the university was selected as a recipient of the Jesse L. Moore Supplier 2021 Diversity Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and only print diversity and inclusion publication in higher education.
