Our Work

Overview

The right support for the right student at the right time.

At the University of South Florida, we believe that every student will succeed if given the opportunity to do so

Our professional staff live this philosophy as they recruit new students, design curriculum, coordinate research projects, process financial aid, create internships, lead outdoor adventures, facilitate course registration, critique resumes, administer flu shots, plan engaging social programs, tutor, run fitness classes, advise student organizations, promote inclusivity, entertain and counsel, plus so much more.

Behind the scenes, we are leveraging predictive analytics to pinpoint students in our large campus population who need extra support to succeed.

Our innovative case management (or as we prefer to call it, "care management") model, has garnered national attention, as well as rankings and awards, for its effectiveness in helping  students to persist and graduate at increasingly higher rates in four and six years, in spite of race/ethnicity and income.

Other professionals in our division are developing curriculum and engaging our students for their development into well-rounded world citizens and future leaders. Still others are helping to keep our students healthy while instilling behaviors for life-long wellness

From 2008 to 2020, our six-year graduation rate increased by 25 percent points to reach 75 percent. This impressive gain is the largest improvement in this metric among all public doctoral-granting institutions during a ten-year period.

We are proud of this work and look forward to advancing it with enhancements to our care management model and greater integration of our diverse team of academic, enrollment, wellness, career readiness and student affairs professionals for the benefit of our students.
