Resettlement Ambivalence and the Right to Stay in Florida During Times of Increased Immigration Enforcement
Center researchers published a study examining how intensified immigration enforcement shapes immigrants' sense of belonging, experiences of home, and long-term resettlement in Florida. Drawing on 53 interviews, the authors introduce the concept of "resettlement ambivalence" to describe the tension between immigrants' understanding of their right to stay and the uncertainty created by an enforcement-focused environment.

IWRC Releases New Report on Immigrant Experiences with Intensified Enforcement in Florida
The Im/migrant Well-Being Research Center has released a new qualitative report based on 53 in-depth interviews documenting how intensified state and federal immigration enforcement is affecting immigrants and their U.S.-born children in Florida. The report highlights impacts on work, housing, family life, health, education, and community well-being. Multi-language one-pagers and a narrative toolkit are also available.

Im/migrant Lives Season 4 Episode 1: The Challenges Facing Crisis Migrants
Crisis migrants are individuals and families who are forced to leave their homes due to circumstances beyond their control, such as natural disasters, armed conflict, or extreme economic crises or a breakdown in local infrastructure and public safety systems. Their migrations are often sudden, and they arrive to reception countries with critical physical, psychological, and financial needs unmet. This episode examines some examples of crisis migrants in the United States and the social challenges they face upon relocation. It concludes with some news about Season 4 of the podcast.

Im/migrant Lives Season 3 Episode 3: Enforcement’s Generational Effects on U.S.-Citizen Young Adults
Immigration enforcement activities have increased over the past year due to policy changes implemented by the current presidential administration. However, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the federal agency responsible for removals and deportations inside the country, has been in operation since 2003. U.S.-citizen children who witnessed enforcement episodes in their families during the Bush and Obama administrations are now young adults. This episode examines the long-lasting, generational effects of ICE’s actions on these U.S. citizens.
