Bio

Regina Hewitt earned her Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.A. from Columbia University after completing a B.A. at Rutgers University. Upon receipt of her doctorate in 1987, she joined the faculty at USF, where she taught until retiring in 2024.

Hewitt remains an active scholar, specializing in the literature and social theory of the Romantic Era and in Scottish Studies.  She serves as Consulting Editor for the European Romantic Review, a journal she co-edited from 2003 to 2016, and as Chair of the John Galt Society.
