Tampa campus Students

Due to the Covid situation, the Office of Graduate Studies has instructed all of our new incoming GA/TAs to complete the following:

“TAs will register for the 0 credit course (IDS 5921) in OASIS, CRN 90830. The Canvas section of this course will be open from August 1 until September 20, 2020. TAs are encouraged to complete this course before the Fall semester starts. TA Training is intended for new TAs”.

All new incoming IB teaching assistants (TAs) and graduate assistants (GAs) must attend three training sessions before they are allowed to teach courses for the department. These training sessions are held the week before fall class start. The first training session is the ATLE mandatory training which consists of a Canvas course and one day in-person session. See updates about ATLE training

This training is immediately followed by the three day STEM Lab TA Workshop which is designed specifically for graduate students who will be teaching in laboratory classrooms.

All new graduate students will attend the IB department Grad Orientation on the Friday before classes begin. During the orientation, students will also complete their EHS lab safety training which is mandatory for any student working in a lab classroom or research laboratory.
