BIO
Georgi Georgiev is a 5th year Ph.D. student in the Sociology department. A political sociologist and comparative historical analyst, he specializes in democratic transitions, state-building, and organized crime. His research focuses on how democratic transitions provide favorable conditions for the emergence of organized crime groups and networks that undermine democratic institutions.
