The Michael Kuperman Memorial Poetry Library: Fostering community, craft, and a sense of self
When MFA student Michael Kuperman passed away in 2006, his family donated his beloved poetry collection to the USF English Department, creating the foundation of the space located on the third floor of Cooper Hall now known as the Michael Kuperman Memorial Poetry Library. Now, the director of the space wants to see it become a haven for creatives across our campuses.

26 new students welcomed into Dean’s Student Leadership Society
The USF College of Arts and Sciences welcomed 26 new members to the Dean’s Student Leadership Society (DSLS). DSLS students are chosen for their superior leadership skills, often serving as volunteer coordinators, executive board members, or critical points of contact on behalf of CAS. DSLS also provides students with mentorship opportunities, professional development workshops, and year-round networking.

Zimmerman School student’s internship with NASA boosts her hopes for the future
Gracie Glover, a senior in the Zimmerman School of Advertising, completed an internship at NASA where she highlighted stories of fellow interns focusing on the inclusivity of the organization’s opportunities.

Interdisciplinary CAS team helps identify new urban tree canopy locations in Tampa
Dr. Shawn Landry and Dr. Rebecca Zarger are two USF College of Arts and Sciences faculty contributing to the City of Tampa’s tree canopy study. Landry and Zarger are tasked with identifying specific tree planting locations throughout the city and conducting outreach with residents in priority locations.
