Electronic submission is required as of a change to F.A.C. 65E-5.280 that took effect 5/4/2020. Forms/documents should no longer be mailed to us.
Did you know that one-third of Baker Act Receiving Facilities are no longer mailing paper forms to the Baker Act Reporting Center? They are scanning the forms into pdf documents and securely transferring them to us. We call this "electronic submission," which saves staff time (yours and ours), and printing/mailing costs. Additionally, forms take fewer days for the Baker Act Reporting Center to receive.
Please contact the Baker Act Reporting Center at firstname.lastname@example.org for instructions about how to begin the electronic submission process. Our staff can assist you in determining which secure file transfer (SFT) option works best for your facility. We also hold weekly technical assistance call/zoom sessions to assist with the initial set up and problem-solving over time.
