Student Scholarships

Theodore R. and Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship

The Theodore R. and Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship, is funded by the Johnson Scholarship Foundation, is a competitively awarded program which is available to undergraduate students with disabilities enrolled in a State University System of Florida (SUS) institution. Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA; must be a Florida resident; provide documentation of the nature and/or extent of the disability; seeking first baccalaureate degree; complete a Theodore R. and Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship application; and submit a Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FASFA).

Information about the Theodore R. and Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship for the academic year 2021-22 is forthcoming. The requirements for last year's applications are found below:

First-Time Applicants must:

  • Submit a completed 2020-21 Theodore R. and Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship Application Form to USF-Johnson Scholarship Administrator Shari Wilson, ADA Coordinator
  • A current official transcript (students applying as a first semester freshman should provide their high school transcript) showing a 2.0 grade point average;
  • Documentation of a disability(ies);
  • A personal statement (no more than one double-spaced page) pertaining to your achievements, activities, career goals, and the effects of your disability(ies);
  • Three letters of reference addressing your academic success and potential; and
  • Complete your 2020-21 FAFSA at https://fafsa.ed.gov/ to receive full consideration for financial aid, your online or mailed FASA is due no later than June 30, 2020.
  • ALL supporting documentation must be submitted by email to Shari Wilson.

Renewal Applicants must:

  • Submit a completed 2020-21 Johnson Scholarship Application Form to USF-Johnson Scholarship Administrator Shari Wilson,  ADA Coordinator
  • Continue to have unmet financial need based upon FAFSA;
  • Have completed at least 9 semester hours a semester, for a total of 18 semester hours;
  • Have maintained a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least a 2.0;
  • Complete your 2018-19 FAFSA at https://fafsa.ed.gov/ to receive full consideration for financial aid, your online or mailed FASA is due no later than June 30, 2020.
  • ALL supporting documentation must be submitted by email to Shari Wilson.
  • The DEADLINE to complete and return your Theodore R. and Vivian M. Johnson Scholarship Application is May 1, 2020.

USF Latino Scholarship Program

The USF Latino Scholarship is a university-wide, undergraduate (incoming freshman or junior level transfer) scholarship designed to assist USF in achieving and sustaining the education benefits of diversity and increasing the number of USF students interested in issues affecting the Latino community and/or likely to give back to the Latino community after graduation. Students must graduate from an accredited high school or community college in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Manatee, Pasco, Hernando, or Sarasota county. Strong consideration will be given to students who are: fluent in Spanish; first generation in their family to attend college; from diverse ethnic background.
