TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 20, 2020) — Registration is now open for the Summer 2020 sessions of the Advanced Placement (AP) Summer Institute at the University of South Florida.

The Advanced Placement (AP) Summer Institute, is a College Board endorsed program that provides professional development to AP teachers. Through the Advanced Placement™ program, College Board provides a way for high school students to earn free college credits while taking high school courses.

As the largest College Board endorsed program in the southeast region, the USF AP Summer Institute offers more than 25 different courses to attendees over the course of two different weeks: July 20-23 and July 27-30.

Hosted by the David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching, the summer institute offers a unique learning experience for teachers who are interested in expanding their knowledge of AP course content, structure and methodology. Teachers who attend have the opportunity to connect with colleagues and discuss issues surrounding the AP courses they will teach in the upcoming school year.

“The USF College of Education is proud to host one of the largest AP Summer Institutes in the country for attendees from across the globe,” said Robert C. Knoeppel, PhD, Dean of the USF College of Education. “We welcome more than 1,000 attendees each year to the USF campus to learn from high-quality instructors about how to effectively teach AP course content, and we strive to ensure that each attendee feels they have had a quality experience while participating in our program.”
