With more than 13,500 education degrees awarded, the College of Education has been a primary contributor of educators in Florida over the last 10 years.

Educators include classroom teachers, school administrators, and other support professionals, such as guidance counselors and media specialists. The College of Education offers clinically rich, nationally recognized state-approved educator certification programs in the following areas: undergraduate teacher preparation, graduate teacher preparation, guidance and counseling, school psychology, and educational leadership.

To be certified in any area, the Florida Department of Education requires an application and completion of a state exam, either the Florida Teacher Certification Examination (FTCE) or the Florida Educational Leadership Examination (FELE), dependent upon certification program. Additionally, we offer courses recognized by the Florida Department of Education toward initial teacher certification, renewal requirements, and certificate additions. For those who already hold a valid professional certificate, the College of Education offers several specialized endorsement options.
