Gifted Education Endorsement (Online)
The Gifted Education Endorsement is a 15-hour program (five classes) for K-12 certified educators seeking an add-on-endorsement in Gifted Education. This is an add-on endorsement available to students who have previously earned initial teaching credentials.
Students may apply for admission to the program during the semester they begin the course "Nature and Needs of the Gifted," the introductory course in the program, or following completion of this course at USF. Individuals who are accepted to the program will be permitted to enroll in the remaining courses leading to the endorsement in the order specified below. Upon completion of the program requirements, students will receive a USF stamp on their transcript indicating attainment of the Florida Endorsement in Gifted.
Reading Endorsement (Online)
The Reading Endorsement is a series of five online courses that provide an in-depth view of reading research, theory, and the application of sound and current scientific research. The Reading Endorsement courses meet the needs of certified K-12 teachers who want to expand upon their certification with expertise in reading instruction.
In order to earn the Florida Reading Endorsement, students must have a valid teaching certificate and successfully complete 15 credit hours of study. Each of the courses in the endorsement can be applied toward a Master of Arts in Reading degree.
