David C. Anchin Center hosts 2019 AP Summer Institute

The David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching welcomed approximately 1,000 educators to participate in the 2019 Advanced Placement Summer Institute at the University of South Florida (USF).

The Advanced Placement (AP) Summer Institute is a College Board endorsed program that provides professional development to AP teachers in high schools. Through the Advanced Placement™ program, College Board provides a way for high school students to earn free college credits while taking high school courses, which exposes students to college level coursework and prepares them to think more critically.

The AP Summer Institute provides teachers the opportunity to learn how to teach their course curriculum from College Board-approved consultants. Consultants are experts in their subject areas and work as readers, graders, and table leaders. The four-day intensive training offers a unique learning experience for teachers interested in expanding their knowledge of AP course content, structure, and methodology.
