5k for K-12
The David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching at the University of South Florida is proud to announce the second annual 5K for K-12, a fundraising event in support of K-12 teachers. The 5K will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 during Teacher Appreciation Week and will draw an anticipated crowd of 500 Tampa Bay area teachers, students, community members, and education advocates.
One of our foremost initiatives is to provide quality professional development to teachers across the state. Professional development opportunities highlight cutting edge best practices in literacy, STEM, online teaching, and equity. Our goal is to make these events free for practicing teachers through fundraising events like the 5k for K-12. All proceeds benefit professional development opportunities for teachers!
Come run through the beautiful Tampa campus of the University of South Florida in support of teachers and students!

2024 Race Schedule
- 5k Run/Walk - 8:00 a.m.
- 1 Mile Fun Run - 8:30 a.m.
2024 Event Swag
All 5k participants will receive a performance race tee and a finisher's medal.
2024 Race Awards
Awards will be given to the overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female. Additionally, awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female in each age group.
Age Groups:
- 9 and under
- 10-14
- 15-19 (5 year category)
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60-69
- 70+

- Water Stations (Race Day)
- Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up (Race Day)
- Set-up (Race Day)
- Registration Table (Race Day)
- Post-Race Clean Up (Race Day)
