Beth Wilt, Ph.D.

A dedicated educator and researcher, Beth Wilt, Ph.D., leads impactful work in special education and teacher preparation at USF St. Petersburg.

Wilt is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Special Education and the Assistant Program Coordinator of Field and Clinical Education at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus. Wilt received her B.S. in Speech Communication Disorders from Colorado State University- Pueblo. She received her Masters in Special Education- Behavior Disorders and her Ph.D. in Special Education Curriculum and Instruction from USF. Wilt teaches special education courses and directs the clinical field experience program for all undergraduates in the College of Education on the St. Petersburg campus. She conducts research on teacher preparation in both the special education and general education fields, autism and intellectual disabilities and inquiry-based practice for teachers of dual impaired students. Wilt is the Director of the Para to Teacher Support Program through the University of West Florida and the Department of Education to support paraprofessionals through the college to teaching pipeline.
