HydroModelMatch

This tool aims to develop a generalized watershed-lake simulation framework to assist users in selecting appropriate modeling platforms. It includes a catalog of watershed and lake models, a data portal with standardized data templates, and a decision tree to guide model selection. The tool streamlines decision-making by categorizing models based on system requirements and computational needs, automating input file generation, and providing access to relevant datasets. By integrating these components, the module enhances watershed-lake modeling, supporting effective BMP assessment and improving decision-making for nutrient management and harmful algal bloom (HAB) control.

AquaNutriOpt

This tool aims to enhance the control of nutrient-driven harmful algal blooms (HABs) by strategically selecting and placing nutrient management practices within watersheds. It achieves this by minimizing nutrient loads-primarily phosphorus and nitrogen-through an optimized approach that considers types and locations of these practices. This tool rapidly estimates the nutrient reduction achieved by different spatial configurations of practices, providing near-optimal solutions without extensive simulation times. By automating data input, output adjustments, and visual mapping, the tool facilitates efficient decision-making, making it adaptable for various watersheds and accessible for researchers and managers.

*Tips for AquaNutriOpt Tool
Here we provided a default Best Management Practices (BMP) database. It includes a list of BMP options by land use type, BMP name, effectiveness in reducing nitrogen and phosphorus (%), estimated implementation cost ($ per acre per year).
How to use this database? You can download this BMP database and update it if needed. After updating the file, save it. When you are ready to use the AquaNutriOpt Tool, include this file as part of the input zip file you upload.
