USF Engineers Win National Award for Innovative Wastewater Treatment Technology
06/29/26 — USF team wins American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES) Excellence in Environmental Engineering and Science Research Award

Civil and Environmental Engineering’s very own Dr. Fred L. Mannering has been elected to the prestigious National Academy of Engineering (NAE) as a member of the Class of 2026. Election to the NAE is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer, recognizing individuals who have made outstanding and lasting contributions to the field.

Two USF Civil & Environmental Engineering teams won the Florida Water Environment Association (FWEA) Student Design Competition Two teams of undergraduate students, ReNew Engineering and SustainaCore, won the Student Design Competition at the FWEA Conference in West Palm Beach.

Daniel Yeh named as AAEES Kappe Lecturer Promoting and sharing knowledge about the latest trends in environmental engineering has been the purpose of the Kappe Lecture Series since its inception in 1989 by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists. This year's Kappe Lecturer is University of South Florida College of Engineering Professor Daniel Yeh.
