Outstanding Staff Awards
2018 Outstanding Staff Awards - March 29, 2019, 2-4 PM, School of Music
Each year, the University of South Florida seeks to recognize employees who exemplify "above and beyond" performance excellence through their daily commitment to the University. It is the hard work and dedication of these staff members that makes our success possible. Award winners will be honored at the annual Outstanding Staff Awards (OSA) Ceremony, which will take place on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 PM.
The ceremony, hosted by President Judy Genshaft, will take place on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the School of Music Concert Hall from 2:00-4:00 PM.
Awardees are encouraged to invite family and friends to attend the ceremony, including their co-workers and supervisors. All employees are invited to attend. A reception will follow the ceremony.
All full-time Staff and Administration employees with at least 12 consecutive months of employment on a position at USF are eligible for nomination. Time spent in temporary (OPS) assignments will not count towards the 12-month consecutive employment. To meet eligibility, an employee must have been employed on an established position on or before January 1, 2018, and employees must be employed on an established position at the time of the awards ceremony to maintain eligibility to receive the award.
Faculty and temporary employees are not eligible to be nominated for the Outstanding Staff Awards. However, faculty and temporary employees are welcome to participate in nominating staff and administration employees for recognition.
Nomination Process for the Nominator:
Complete your nomination online with the 2018 Outstanding Staff Awards Nomination Form. We will only accept nominations completed through the online form. The nomination form is available from January 8, 2019 until 5:00 PM on January 24, 2019.

Individual Award Nominations allow for the recognition of a single employee's "above and beyond" performance.
Team Award Nominations allow for the recognition of a team of employees for its execution of a project, plan and/or initiative that exemplifies "above and beyond" performance. Teams may be any size and may be comprised of members from different departments within the same VP area.
Can someone nominate an employee from a different department or VP area?
Absolutely. An employee can nominate their colleague, supervisor, or someone they work with from a different area.
Who is eligible for an Outstanding Staff Award?
Any employee on an Administration or Staff position with at least one year of continuous service on a position as of January 1, 2018. Faculty and temporary employees are not eligible to be nominated but are welcome to participate in nominating staff and administration employees.
Can someone be nominated for more than one award?
Absolutely. An employee can win an individual and/or team award.
I want to nominate a team but one of the team members has only been here six months.
Is the team still eligible?
Yes, though only team members that meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for an award. The team members not eligible can still attend the ceremony and cheer on their fellow team members from the audience, but they will not be recognized on stage or with a monetary award.
Are previous winners eligible to win again?
Yes. There are no limits set regarding how many times an employee can receive an Outstanding Staff Award.
When, where and what time is the event?
Friday, March 29, 2019 in the School of Music Concert Hall from 2:00-4:00 PM. USF President Judy Genshaft will host the ceremony.
