Beaches

Some of the best beaches in the United States are located in the Tampa Bay area. The City of St. Pete Beach is a barrier island community located just off the Pinellas County mainland of Saint Petersburg, just south of Treasure Island, and Clearwater Beach. With miles of pristine, white sandy beaches, year-round sunshine and an abundance of recreational opportunities, these beaches are some of the most enjoyable in the world.

 

BUSCH GARDENS

Busch Gardens Tampa is a 335-acre African-themed animal theme park.  The park officially features 8 roller coasters and 2 water rides amongst other rides and animal attractions. Its newest roller coaster, Cobra’s Curse, was opened in June 2016.

 

Channelside

Channelside Bay Plaza is an entertainment complex located in downtown Tampa. This neighborhood is one of the fastest growing areas of Tampa with high rise condominiums, shops, dining, and entertainment venues. 

 

Florida Aquarium

The Florida Aquarium enables you to get up close to many of Florida’s aquatic and terrestrial animals and ecosystems, as well as others from around the world. More than a must-see attraction, we are working to protect and restore our blue planet on many conservation fronts, including research and rescue efforts that help restore Florida’s sea turtle and coral populations and to ensure that sharks continue to swim our seas.

 

Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI)

Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) is a scientific playground with more than 450 hands-on activities in the largest science center in the southeastern United States. 

 

Tampa Riverwalk

The Tampa Riverwalk provides access for anyone who desires to enjoy a walk, jog or bike along this continuous pathway extending from the Channelside area to Tampa Heights along the east side of the Hillsborough River. It incorporates pedestrian amenities, art and interpretive elements, retail and restaurants, and parks and open space.

 

The Dali  Museum

The Dali Museum, across the bay in charming St. Petersburg, celebrates the life and work of Salvador Dali (1904-1989) and features works from the artist’s entire career. The collection includes over 2,100 works from every moment and in every medium of his artistic activity, including oil paintings, many original drawings, book illustrations, artists’ books, prints, sculpture, photos, manuscripts and an extensive archive of documents. 

 

Tampa Bay History Center

A Smithsonian Institution Affiliate, the Tampa Bay History Center includes three floors of permanent and temporary exhibition space focusing on 12,000 years of Florida history. It features a museum store, the Witt Research Center, a map gallery, event hall, and the Columbia Café, a branch of the historic Columbia Restaurant. One of Tampa’s premier cultural venues, the History Center features cutting-edge interactive exhibits and provides a unique educational experience for all ages. 

 

Tampa Museum of Art

The Tampa Museum of Art opened its award-winning home in 2010 with a commitment to providing innovative public programs with a strong focus on antiquities and modern and contemporary art.  It is the region’s largest museum devoted to art of our time and has built a reputation for embracing contemporary photography and new media. The Museum balances a growing collection with a dynamic annual schedule of special exhibitions that bring the world’s finest visual arts to the region.  

 

USF Botanical Gardens

The USF Botanical Gardens is part of the Department of Geography, Environment and Planning in the College of Arts and Sciences. It consists of about 16 acres of gardens and greenbelt on the USF Tampa campus. The Gardens maintains a living collection of more than 3,000 of plants, animals and natural habitats. 

 

Ybor City

Ybor City is a historic district in the city of Tampa. Several structures in the historic district are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Evoking the history of Ybor City, the classic brick streets and historic facades blend into a distinct sense of culture that enlivens your environment while preserving a rich history of diversity, community and industry.
