About Us
As part of USF’s Office of Admissions, the Office of Outreach and Access is dedicated to increasing college access for students from underrepresented, first-generation and special populations. We provide the support these students need to become competitive applicants. In addition, our office’s support extends beyond college acceptance and even graduation, preparing students for successful careers and futures.
MISSION
The mission of the Office of Outreach and Access is to provide college access by understanding diverse perspectives, cultivating awareness and preparing underrepresented student populations.

Is USF a diverse university?
Yes! Diversity is a big asset to life at USF. In fact, 42% of students are African American, American Indian, Asian, Hispanic, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, or multiracial.

Yes, USF is regularly recognized for its ability to serve and support students from all backgrounds. Recently, USF was awarded the 2022 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award, a national honor recognizing U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Once students get to USF, are there resources and services available to help ensure their success?
Absolutely! One of the resources USF is most proud to feature is the Student Support Services (SSS) program. This federally funded retention program provides academic and personal support for underrepresented student populations. The program is designed to significantly increase the retention and graduation rates of its participants.
