6 Undergrad and Grad Students Hosted Bi-Annual Event

USF Students Host Celestial-Themed Reading

The USF English department hosted the Fall edition of their biannual 6x6 reading series at Felicitous Coffee and Tea on 42nd Street on Friday, October 19. The reading featured six undergraduate and six graduate students who were chosen to read their work of 1,000 words or less.

Each fall and spring semester, the USF English department hosts the 6x6 reading series for students to submit their short works of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. This term’s theme was celestial, so all of the pieces included an otherworldly element. The coordinators wanted to “embrace space with all of its black holes and supernovas.”

The event was hosted by third-year MFA students Courtney Clute and Ashleigh Ray. Readers included graduate students Ashely Adams, Gabrielle Grilli, Sarah Harder, Macey Sidlasky, Kelcee Sykes, and Callie Treadway, and undergraduate students Mario Aliberto III, Brooke Fishbein, Ashley Gates, Kyle Juarez, Kimilee Norman, and Ben Pinkard.

Be on the lookout for 6x6’s call for submission in early Spring 2020!
