With classes in full swing, the Department of English took time this semester to bring students together through seasonal events in Cooper Hall.
The Pumpkin Painting and Pizza event, hosted by the English Graduate Student Association (EGSA), welcomed graduate students for an afternoon of creativity and community. They painted pumpkins, enjoyed complimentary pizza, and connected in a relaxed setting outside the classroom.
A few days later, the Department of English hosted its Halloween Book Swap, bringing together English undergraduate and graduate students to celebrate a shared love of reading. Attendees exchanged books, participated in a "Blind Date with a Book", had the opportunity to join a raffle, enjoyed treats, and showed off their Halloween costumes.
Together, these events provided opportunities for students to build connections, engage with the department community, and celebrate the fall season. The Department of English and EGSA look forward to continuing to create spaces for students to connect throughout the academic year.
