Bio

Angela El-Fayez is a Bedouin Jordanian-American female who has benefited from the experience of living and working in diverse cultures. She is cognizant of her privilege, and therefore her responsibility, to work to bridge awareness and understanding between and among these two cultures. Angela has worked as a teacher, translator, advocate, and research coordinator on issues related to Bedouin, refugee, and vulnerable populations in Jordan. Based on her work, Angela firmly believes that economic and social progress in the Middle East can come about through policy change by raising awareness of environmental, political, and social issues. In a region as volatile, yet globally significant, as the Middle East, Angela recognizes that the growing role of women and youth is paramount to sustainable growth, development, and peace.
