Lyndsay N. Boggess is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology at the University of South Florida. She received her Ph.D. in Criminology, Law & Society from the University of California, Irvine in 2009. Her research focuses on communities and crime, specifically the spatial and temporal relationships between neighborhood structure, racial/ethnic composition, and the housing market. She also researches the effects of neighborhood structure on crime across different sub-groups such as race/ethnicity and sex, and distance-to-crime and offense patterns across geographic locations. More recently, her work has started investigating racial disparities in sentencing and prosecutorial discretion.
