In the following workshop, we will explore and work with innovative strategies for assessment and best practices in an era where artificial intelligence is reshaping how students demonstrate learning. Participants will learn performance-based assessment tools including student-generated content such as videos, the new Canvas portfolio solution, and student annotation tools like Perusall to enrich collaborative meaning-making and critical thinking. We’ll also explore best practices and examples of AI-resilient assessments that emphasize critical thinking, process, and metacognition. Rethinking Assessment in the Age of AI - Webinar Series Spring Event

From Concept to Practice: Using AI Role Play to Deepen Learning and Scale Skill Based Assessment

In this next installment of our Rethinking Assessment in the Age of AI Faculty Champions  webinar series, Dr. Ryan Henry and Dr. Vicky Buckles share a live, working example of AI supported role play they each designed and refined themselves. You will see how this faculty-built approach is already transforming graduate counseling education, deepening learning, extending practice, and supporting authentic skill-based assessment.

This session is designed for faculty who want to rethink assessment in the age of AI, moving beyond high-stakes testing toward simulation-based approaches that generate authentic evidence of student learning, applied skills, and meaningful outcomes.
