The National Science Foundation has awarded the University of South Florida a $3.7 million grant – helping prepare students for in-demand, high-paying cybersecurity jobs in the federal government and other public institutions.

USF President Emerita and Professor Judy Genshaft was honored with WLP's Lifetime Achievement Award and Donna Petersen, USF’s chief health officer and dean of the College of Public Health, received WLP’s Community Leadership Award, which is for visionary leaders doing extraordinary things to make the Tampa Bay region a better place for women to live and work.

Impressive discoveries and advancements include the development of novel COVID-19 therapeutics, NASA funding to improve human spaceflight conditions and new defenses for wireless network security systems.
Thanks to the interdisciplinary work of a team of USF scientists, the ancient Greek city of Heloros, in Sicily, is now being studied with the most advanced digital technologies. The team identified additional structural details of the city, which dates to the eighth century B.C., and is now able to reveal a fuller picture of its layout.
