USF student invents lumber alternative using recycled plastic
The material will be used as a replacement for wood to create fence posts that can last 30 to 50 years, about three times longer than a traditional wood fence.

Fatemeh Rasouli - Boundless Bulls
While working on her master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Fatemeh Rasouli decided she wanted to use her knowledge and skills to help people in a tangible way. Fatemeh focused her studies on gait rehabilitation and discovered the work taking place at the University of South Florida’s REED lab. Upon graduation, Fatemeh reached out to the lab’s director, Kyle Reed, who suggested she apply to USF’s doctoral program. Today, Fatemeh is working toward her Ph.D. and has been able to have an impact on those living with disabilities.
