About Us
Diversity and Inclusion Statement
The University of South Florida Office of National Scholars (ONS) works to support
all students, across our three campuses, in achieving their goals and aspirations.
Opportunities are open to people regardless of their race, ethnicity, color, national
origin, sex, age, religion, geographic location, socioeconomic status, disability,
sexual orientation, or gender identity. We hope to encourage students who are traditionally
underrepresented in national scholarship and fellowship applicant pools to work with
us and find opportunities that suit their needs.
Each national scholarship and fellowship we assist students in applying for has its
own eligibility and selection criteria. These may include factors related to social
identities, socioeconomic status, and/or academic success. We will work with students
to understand how these elements may play a role in the application process, but we
do not have control over eligibility or selection criteria for national awards. Each
of the groups and organizations that sponsor and facilitate these awards do so with
inclusion and equity in mind.
Most of these opportunities were created to promote innovation, scholarship, active
citizenship, and global cooperation. None of this can be done without voices from
all communities. We strive to be trusted advisors, helping elevate our students’ voices
from these various communities onto the national stage. If you have any questions
about our office or advising process, please contact nationalscholarships@usf.edu.
Sincerely,
The Office of National Scholars Team
