Tenure and Promotion
In order for the University to perform its functions effectively, it is essential that faculty members feel free to express new ideas and divergent viewpoints in their teaching and research. In the process of teaching and research, there must be freedom to question and challenge accepted "truths." A university must create an atmosphere that encourages faculty members to develop and share different ideas and divergent views and to make inquiries unbounded by present norms. Tenure contributes significantly to the creation of such an atmosphere.
The deadline for 2020-21 Tenure applications is Monday, January 11, 2021 at 5 p.m. The Tenure and Promotion process will be generated through the Archivum System. If you have any questions regarding the new system, please send inquiries to FacultyHelp@usf.edu. The guidelines in effect can be accessed below.
For training in use of the Archivum System, clicking on this Canvas link shown below will allow anyone to “self-enroll” in the Faculty Information System (FIS) Training Canvas Course. This course provides users with tutorials and training resources to develop an understanding of the FIS.
