Overview

Student Health offers testing for Sexually Transmitting Infections (STI) and STDs. Your provider will help you determine what STIs you should be screened for. Ask your provider about options for free STI testing and visit usf.edu/GYT for options. Male patients: please do not urinate one hour prior to your appointment.

Chlamydia

Chlamydia is a common STD that can infect both men and women.

Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease that can infect both men and women.

Genital Herpes

Genital herpes is an STD caused by two types of viruses. The viruses are called herpes simplex type 1 and herpes simplex type 2.

HPV

HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI).

HIV/AIDS

HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. It is the virus that can lead to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, or AIDS. Unlike some other viruses, the human body cannot get rid of HIV. That means that once you have HIV, you have it for life.

Syphilis

Syphilis is an STD that can cause long-term complications if not treated correctly.

Get Yourself Tested

STI Testing can be offered by billing insurance or self-paying the student rates. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 813.445.4976 or 813.974.2331.
