Avoid Crime
Self Defense for Women
Rape Aggression Defense, known as R.A.D., is a self-defense program designed specifically for women. The R.A.D. approach to personal safety begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, and progresses to hands-on physical defense techniques. The class is taught by R.A.D. certified USF police officers and staff and is not a Martial Arts program.
Students who participate in the program will learn physical tactics, verbal techniques and ground defense, just to name a few. The techniques taught in this class are designed to maximize confidence and build on instinctive responses to potentially vulnerable situations. While participating in R.A.D., students will have the opportunity to practice in realistic simulation exercises.
