  • Philosophy
  • Anthropology

ICS supports research on questions involving:

  • Artificial intelligence
  • Public knowledge
  • Media
  • Science and technology
  • Health information
  • Archives and memory
  • Policy and ethics
  • Expertise
  • The organization and circulation of information

ICS supports faculty and student collaboration through research workshops, invited speakers and public conversations, reading and working groups, graduate student programming, and opportunities to develop collaborative research and funding proposals.

The initiative also seeks to strengthen connections among graduate students and faculty working across departments and schools, and it is open to faculty and graduate students from across USF whose work intersects with information, communication, technology, institutions, knowledge, or public life.

Faculty and graduate students interested in the initiative and its activities are encouraged to contact Nathan R. Johnson.
