The Patel Distinguished Scholar Award

The Patel Distinguished Scholar Award is a merit-based scholarship for new incoming graduate students beginning their studies at PCGS. It honors outstanding academic achievement and commitment to advancing the mission of global sustainability. This award is not based on financial need and is not available to continuing students.

Requirements

Essay

In 1–2 pages, describe:

• Your contributions or leadership in sustainability research, practice, or community engagement.
• How your graduate studies at PCGS support your goals and amplify your impact.
• How this merit-based award will enhance your success and visibility in the field.

Resume

Attach a current resumé or CV (1–2 pages).

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a newly admitted student beginning their first semester at PCGS (not a continuing student).
• The applicant must be enrolled full-time, taking a minimum of 9 graduate credit hours, and registered for courses in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
• The applicant must agree to participate in a brief interview if selected as a finalist.

Award: Two (2) $3,000 each, awarded annually
Application Deadline: October 15
Semester Awarded: Fall Semester
Disbursement: After add/drop, normally around February 1
Eligibility: Incoming PCGS students with remarkable entrance application
