Sociology

Career Clusters and Courses

Although our sociology bachelor's degree program can prepare students to enter a wide range of careers and graduate degree programs, it is the responsibility of students, in consultation with their advisors, professors, and representatives of Career Services, to tailor their college experience to fit their particular career and/or graduate school aspirations. Further information about jobs and careers in sociology is available at the website of the American Sociological Association. The following table assists students in planning their course schedules with their career goals in mind.

To further assist students, the Department of Sociology and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences has created a series of career modules that are integrated into required courses for our under-graduate major: Introduction to Sociology, Classical Theory, Research Methods, and Senior Seminar. These career modules are designed to provide students with resources they will need to enter the workforce or graduate school.
