Alejandra Cancel Hernández is a Visiting Assistant Instructor in the World Languages Department with an M.A. in Spanish Literature. Originally from Caguas, Puerto Rico, she completed her education at the University of Tampa and the University of South Florida. She hopes to obtain a Ph.D. in Latin American literature and contribute to the field with posthumanist and ecological thought approaches to the Anthropocene novel. She has been the president of the Sigma Delta Pi Honor Society, Pi Sigma Chapter, since 2023.
