MAJORS
At The Zimmerman School of Advertising & Mass Communications at the University of South Florida, your ideas and stories have the power to shape the world. Our undergraduate majors prepare you to lead in a range of communication industries including advertising, public relations, journalism, television news, social media, and video and documentary production. Whether you are interested in telling impactful stories, creating campaigns for brands, or producing digital content, our programs give you the hands-on experiences, industry connections, and mentorship needed to excel.
Located in Tampa Bay, one of the nation’s top 15 media markets, the Zimmerman School connects students with industry professionals who visit classes, mentor students, and offer real-world insight into the evolving media landscape. Students are encouraged to expand their learning beyond the classroom through internships and experiential learning opportunities, gaining hands-on experience that prepares them for a range of media and communications careers.
The Zimmerman School offers two majors, each with two concentrations.
The Integrated Public Relations and Advertising Bachelor of Science degree prepares students for positions in the fields of public relations, advertising, and integrated communications. The major has two concentrations: Advertising and Public Relations.
The Mass Communications Bachelor of Arts degree prepares students for careers in broadcast journalism, digital media, broadcast production, video production, documentary filmmaking, and promotional communication. The major has two concentrations: News & Content Creation and Video & Documentary Production.
