Distinguished Alumni Award

Kumar Ramachandran (MSIE'87) was awarded the IMSE Distinguished Alumni Award from the USF College of Engineering in 2015.

Kumar Ramachandran, an MSIE '87 alumnus of the IMSE Department, is the founder and CEO of Gram Suchana Solutions Pvt Ltd., a social entrepreneurship initiative focused on "Empowering Rural India." He was also the founder and CEO of Vignani Technologies Pvt Ltd. (2005-2014), a product engineering services company and the founder and CEO of Vignani Solutions (2009-2011) an innovative technology company for LED lighting. He serves as a Board Director in two start-up companies, Prodegi Energy Management Solutions Pvt Ltd., in Bangalore, India, and Pi Datacenters Pvt Ltd, Andhra Pradesh, India. Prior to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Kumar held key positions with Applied Materials and Hitachi Data Systems.
