Lex Pre-Law Fellowship in Valencia, Spain

Program Introduction
Program Advisor: Lauren Chambers
Build practical legal skills while living on Spain’s Mediterranean coast through the Lex Fellowship program! You will live and study in the vibrant coastal city of Valencia, Spain where historic traditions meet striking modern architecture. Visit the iconic "City of Arts and Sciences" while developing valuable legal experience.
This distinctive study abroad program provides hands-on exposure to international law through placements with law firms, shadowing with practicing attorneys, and analysis of real legal cases. Students also take part in court visits, legal excursions, pre-law preparation, and law school readiness sessions.
Weekly cultural and educational excursions further enrich the experience, helping participants gain a deeper understanding of Spain.
The Lex Fellowship Program is not a nationally competitive award, but it is an excellent pre-professional program to gain experience.
Why Participate in the Lex Program?
Targeted for Pre-Law Students
Lex is the only program exclusively tailored to American pre-law students. It combines a trip abroad with realistic law firm experience and preparation for the U.S. pre-law path.
Models the Life of a Lawyer
In Lex’s “Law Immersion” model, students will rotate amongst different law firms, gaining experience with different cases, fields, and lawyers. They will be guided by a legal associate local to Spain.
Develops Competitive Skills for Law School
Lex helps students to stand out by providing a unique international legal experience, which can be more impactful than many other extracurriculars.
