The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at the University of South Florida hosts annual research competitions that showcase the innovative work of our postdoctoral scholars and visiting researchers.

Lightning Talk Competition

The Postdoctoral Scholar Lightning Talk Competition provided a platform for postdocs to explain their research to a non-specialist audience with less than 5 slides in under 3 minutes. This event is held in conjunction with the 3MT competition for graduate students and the winners of this competition were awarded funding for conference travel or professional development. 

Graduate Research Symposium

The Graduate Research Symposium showcases the research of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in all disciplines, allowing them to obtain feedback from faculty and peers. The event brings together students, scholars, faculty mentors and judges, in an effort to foster further academic collaboration. The winners of this competition were awarded funding for conference travel or professional development.

These events provide valuable opportunities for professional development, networking, and recognition, while highlighting the breadth and impact of postdoctoral research at USF.
