From Classroom to Library Leadership: USF MLIS Alum Melissa Welden is Elected Vice President/President-Elect of Beta Phi Mu

In December 2023, Melissa graduated and soon received an invitation to join the honor society Beta Phi Mu. In January of 2024, she became a member. Today, she takes on the role of Vice President/President-Elect.

School of Information Professor Appointed William W. & Judith A. Gaunt Professor in Library and Information Science for the USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus

The University of South Florida recently announced the William W. & Judith A. Gaunt Professor in Library and Information Science, a position on the Sarasota-Manatee campus, will be conferred to James E. Andrews, a tenured full professor in the School of Information. The endowed professorship, the first for the School of Information, will establish the school’s presence at USF Sarasota-Manatee.
