Dr. Oana Cimpean is a Learning and Development Facilitator in the Academy for Teaching
and Learning Excellence (ATLE). Dr. Cimpean earned her doctorate in French Studies
from Louisiana State University. Prior to joining ATLE, Dr. Cimpean worked at New
York University (in the Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting department
of the School of Professional Studies) and at the University of Arkansas ( in the
World Languages, Literatures and Cultures department).
During her tenure at the University of Arkansas, Dr. Cimpean trained and supervised the teaching assistants assigned to teach lower-level French courses. In her efforts to help teaching assistants become better and more confident teachers, Dr. Cimpean became interested in the literature on learning and teaching, which ultimately resulted in her joining ATLE.
